Farewell Jacob

Good afternoon blog friends!

As my amazingly wonderful, crazy, loving, hilarious best friend and husband would say- Happy Hump Day! I was originally terribly bothered by this phrase for what it would seem to obviously mean. Then my honey explained to me it actually means you are over the hump of the week. It's all downhill from here. So, for him, I will say Happy Hump Day to you all!

I was lucky enough to feed Alexis her morning snack at school. Work is slow, so I took a small break and went to see my little booboo. She ate so good! Demita always tells me that she a little piggy at school, but I was a tiny bit skeptical. Not any more. That girl ate 3 times what we would give her at home. I guess I know why she never wants to eat at home now. She is stuffing herself to the max at school. Good by this Mama!

This is my totally random quote for the day. I read it online and LOVED it. I can't stand when people don't tip. It says so much about them!

You can tell the measure of a man, or woman, by how well they tip. There are ridiculous and pointless unwritten rules about tipping that make the whole exercise frustrating to some who don't understand the practice, but at its core it shows a sincere understanding for what other people have to do at their jobs. Which is sort of the point of empathy.

I'm sure you all remember when it was just Lexi and one other little boy at school. Seems like forever ago with all the hustle and bustle they have over there now. Well, Jacob (the other little boy) is moving back to Louisiana tomorrow, and we are all a little sad today. From the beginning it was just he and Lexi, and they always loved each other so much. His family originally moved here after being relocated from Hurricane Katrina. They stayed for a while and really loved Birmingham. Just recently they have had their second baby and have decided to move back to their home so the kids can be around the rest of their families. Even though we are sad to see him go, I can completely understand where they are coming from. I can't imagine raising Lexi without our families around. That would be so hard and not near as fun. In true Mrs. Demita fashion, they are having a big Mardi Gras themed going away party tomorrow. Judging from the invitations, it should be spectacular! I was excited when Demita agreed to let me make the purple, gold, and green cupcakes! Mmm! Jacob decided to type the end of this paragraph for me- xrdsgvseeeeeeeeeeddfvgvh! Thanks J-A-C-O-B!
