Some pictures of Lexi at 8 months old~
Her newest accomplishment is the intricate use of her fingers. She can grab very small pieces of food (or whatever), and put it directly in her mouth with little to no trouble. I hear she is way ahead of her class on this skill. Just the other day I put a bunch of pieces of her dried fruit snacks on the table to see if she could get them without my help. Sure enough, one by one she ate those little suckers like it was no big deal.
Another of my new favorite things is how she tries to keep up with the big kids at school. Right now, her class consists of Neah- age 2, Braeden-age 3, and Jacob- age 2. They run and play all the day long. Lexi will watch them in amazement just dying to run with them. She will chase them crawling at top speed trying her very best to keep up. They are all so sweet to her and make her feel like part of whatever they are doing. They even all call her " Baby Lexi Poo". It is just so darn cute. In the afternoons, they often play basketball. Lexi will get in her walker and scoot around in that thing, never once realizing that she isn't actually part of the game. It is so darling. Their latest gift from Mrs. Demita is a slide, and you guessed it- Lexi goes right down that thing with the rest of them. They will clap for her and say, "Your turn Baby Lexi Poo, Your turn!" Ugh. Melts my heart. I know that being around kids that are just a little bit older than her will be so good for her development. She wants to do the things they are doing so bad, and in time definitely will.
On another note... the pool is open!!!!!! We had our first pool party this past weekend, and it was everything we dreamed of it being. The pool and hot tub are absolutely gorgeous. It felt so good to jump (not dive, haha!) in and swim around! Mike grilled us all the most amazing chicken, cheese, and mushroom sandwiches ever! Chip even drove up to swim with us. Oh my gosh, I LOVE summer, and I love Nana's pool!!! (I will be uploading pics as soon as the landscaping is finished off. Wouldn't want our big reveal to not be the complete finished product.)
I will say farewell for today and leave you with these pictures of a dress up party at The Perfect Puzzle Preschool. SO HILARIOUS!!! :)
