Happy Memorial Day! (a day late)
This past weekend was loaded with summer activities. All good for this summer loving family!
Saturday night Brandon and I dropped Lexi off at Grandma JuJu's house and went to the Zac Brown Band concert with Mike and Mom. At dinner before the concert, Brandon and I made the realization that we had never been to a concert together at Oak Mountain Amphitheater. At this point in our 8 year long relationship, it is very rare that we find something in Birmingham that we have not done together. We were kinda shocked. The concert was awesome! Everyone was sweaty and nasty and loving every minute of it! Zac Brown sounded amazing live and even threw in a little Van Morrison and Tom Petty. Niiiiiiiiice.
Sunday we relaaaaaaaaaxed! Uncle Cookie came over, and the only time we left the house was to run pick up Quizno's. I really really really really really love days where we do nothing. Our lives seem so busy, so a day at home is always welcomed.
Monday was no work thanks to Memorial Day! Whoopie! Lexi had two different Memorial Day outfits. It's a good thing, because outfit #1 was dirty by 10am. At around 8am Granny and Granddaddy came by with a little breakfast to start our holiday! We enjoyed a quick visit. They even got to see Lexi's new scoot/crawl. For lunch we went to Mike's house for a cookout and swim party. Brandon made his famous ribs!!! Mmm!!! My sweet hubby can make the BEST ribs! Mike and Mom put together some chicken and sides that were also very yummy. At around 4:30 we headed over to Sangy's house for another cookout. Brandon's family was all over there. Even though Lexi (and me and Brandon too) was feeling a little under the weather, we still had a great time! The food was delicious, and Sangy's new back porch area is a great place for a Memorial Day barbecue. Chip came over when we got home, and a Tiger Woods tournament ensued. I got tired after the front 9 and quit. :) Here's Lexi poo on her first Memorial Day. Age- 7 1/2 months.
The whole family is at home today again. It's not for good reason, though. We are ALL sick. Slowly but surely we have developed a cold, cough, fever type thing. I got it first, then Lex, then Daddy. It is so not fun. We are on a constant Dayquil regiment that is barely keeping us going. I suppose if Lex isn't better by tomorrow I may have to run her to Dr. Malone. I sure don't want it to develop into something more serious.
Anyway, hope everyone had a good holiday and has an even better week. <3 you all.
