Cookie Had a Birthday, the NBA sucks, and Lexi Does Tricks!

Soooooo, good morning everyone. I am a little under the weather at the moment, so I'll do my very best to still be entertaining.

Last Friday (the 20th) was Uncle Chocolate Chip Cookie's 20th birthday! Happy happy happy golden birthday Uncle Cookie. BTW, together Chip and I have decided that Uncle Chocolate Chip Cookie may be a little hard for a 7 month old to attempt to repeat. We have temporarily shorted his name to simply Uncle Cookie. No need to fear- once Lexi masters this we will go back to the full Uncle Chocolate Chip Cookie. Anyway, it was Cookie's birthday and to celebrate we all went out to the Cheesecake Factory! Mmm!!! We Rhotons love love love the Cheesecake Factory! Lexi sat in a high chair at the table for the very first time! She had lots of fun throwing her toys on the floor and banging her hands on the table. Everyone that worked there seemed to love them some Lexi poo! After dinner, we all went back to Nana's house for some cake and presents. It was just about bedtime for Little Miss so we went on home. Chip came over to our house as well. After putting Lexi poo in bed, we all watched basketball, played Yahtzee, and watched YouTube videos on the internet. Lots and lots of fun! What a sweet 20 year old to spend his birthday with his family! :)

The remainder of the weekend was spent relaxing. Brandon and I finally broke down and got an air conditioner for our den. Our A/C is blowing hot air all over the house. We had to do something to stay cool until we can get someone out to replace the entire unit. So we hopped on over to Target for a quick fix. The house is now super cold, and we are loving it!

The NBA sucks. Watching basketball evvvvvvery night sucks. The Playoffs suck. That's all I'm going to say about that. (I'd still rather be watching basketball with Brandon, Chip, and Lex than watching something else without them.)

We are still working on crawling. I feel like this may be a task we never accomplish. Lexi more tries to stand up than crawl. She thinks that being on her knees is the midway point to standing up. Crawling is very confusing for our poor girl. With that said, she is getting very close to crawling. As of yesterday, she has started a sort of army crawl. She sticks her leg out to the side and then pulls herself with her arms. It is absolutely hilarious. She still cannot grasp that her legs can actually help her! If both your legs were broken and you were dragging yourself on the floor, you would look very similar to Lexi's attempt at crawling. It really is so funny! I love that sweet precious girl so much!

Lexi also has started imitating us with noises. She is really starting to use her voice in different ways. Yesterday Chip was saying, "Hey, BooBoo" to her. She would say back to him, "ey buhbuhbuh". She was clearly trying to repeat what he was saying. It was amazing!! She is getting so smart! This morning she and Demita were saying "ahhhhh" back and forth to each other. Here are some pictures Demita captured of their playtime.

Guess that's about it around here. Have a wonderfully wonderful Wednesday!
