WOW! What a past 10 days we have had!!!
Last Saturday, Allstate was a part of We Love Homewood Day. This is something we do at work every year. The whole family comes, and we work the tent all day. Usually Brandon hands out cotton candy with my boss Eric, while Eric's wife Katie and I talk to people. This year was a little different since we added the babies in. Katie is pregnant, and they also have a 2 year old. We popped up the pack n play in the tent and spent most of the day playing. Little work was done. It was lots of fun!
On Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day! It was my very first Mother's Day, and it just reminded me how incredibly lucky I am to have such an incredible baby girl. I am so fortunate to be her mother, and I will never for one second take her for granted. We headed over to mom's house around 11 to meet up with the whole family. Mom, Mike, Granny, Granddaddy, Aunt Tana, Brittney, Connor, Chip, and Byron were all there. I was greeted at the door with a glass of champagne and a rose. It sure is nice being a mommy! We all followed each other to the Botanical Gardens for a delicious picnic and stroll through the park. The weather was perfect, and we all had such a wonderful relaxing time. We really could not have asked for a better day!
Monday was mine and Brandon's 2 year wedding anniversary!! Yay for 2 years. This day and age marriages seem to never last. I am so proud to still be going strong with my fabulous husband. He is such an amazing soul, and I could never express how grateful I am for his love and friendship. We dropped Lexi off with Mrs. Demita and went to a celebration lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Deeeeeeelicious! We enjoyed a nice drive and cup of Starbucks coffee after lunch, then headed back to get Lexi from school. We spent the rest of the day and night enjoying our favorite little spot- home! :)
Tuesday morning we got up early and left for St. George Island. As I mentioned earlier, Brandon's cousin was getting married and the whole family was driving down. It was a loooooong ride, but Lexi was very good in the car. She slept most of the way, and ate and played when she was awake. We went out to dinner with Ronnie and Judy the first night at the cutest little Cafe in Apalachicola. The second day we put Lex in the swimming pool for the first time ever. She LOVED it! She would splash and play. She got water all over her face and didn't care for one second! She would occasionally dip her mouth in the water and choke a little bit. We had to keep a close watch on that mischievous little munchkin. The second night Brandon's uncle Kim, Tonia, baby Lucy, and Mamaw arrived. We met Sangy and Brandon's cousin Camden for dinner at a little beach restaurant called the Blue Parrot. It was beautiful sitting on the water with the sun going down. Grandma offered to keep Lexi for the evening, so Brandon, Camden, and I went to the Tiki Bar attached to the restaurant. We had tons of fun laughing and giving Brandon a hard time. It's so nice to get out with the hubby every now and then for a little grown-up time. Thursday and Friday we spent swimming, playing, and relaxing. Lexi and Lucy absolutely loved each other. It was so adorable to see them kiss and love on one another. Any time Lucy would see Lexi's bottle sitting on the table she would bring it to me and say, "baby bottle, baby bottle". She wanted to make sure little Lex was all taken care of. So so sweet. Saturday was the big wedding day! We all got dressed up and drove over to the house where the wedding was taking place. It was a gorgeous wedding. It wasn't too hot and the sun was just right. Lindsay looked very pretty in her strapless dress and head piece. It's so nice to see a wedding that truly reflects the bride and groom. The reception took place outside under the house. Ronnie prepared a nice shrimp, sausage, potato, and corn boil that everyone enjoyed very much. Lexi got tired pretty fast, so we had to leave a little early. Sunday morning we packed up and drove home. All in all we had a great time!!! I already miss vacation SO SO SO bad!!! For pictures of our trip (and some of Lexi lately) follow this link-

It was back to life as usual yesterday. Work always seems so much worse after you've been off for a while. Oh well. I suppose that's the way it goes. It was nice to go home to Brandon and Uncle Chocolate Chip Cookie cooking me dinner last night! I have never enjoyed potato skins, buffalo chicken, and spinach and artichoke dip so much!
Demita brought Lexi lots of surprises today! She went to the store last night and stocked up on baby cookies, baby yogurt snacks, food, yogurt drinks, and a new sippie cup. Lex thinks that she has died and gone to Heaven. She could not have been happier eating her very first cookie. It was so funny! She's also very good at holding her sippie cup. She still would much rather you hold it for her, but she will grab it eventually if you refuse. Haha!
Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! After all the tornado mess, I am reminded how fortunate we are to wake up and have this day. Let's appreciate it. Oh, and tell someone you love them. Don't let one second go by without letting the ones you love know it. You never know when it will be you last chance to do so. I love all of you very much! Peace out.
LOVE you bestie!!! So glad you had a happy and fun vacay!!! miss you!! Now that Lex is a seasoned traveler you need to bring her up to visit her Auntie Erin!!! I may not be as good as Miss Demita but you know I would have that girl some yummy snacks and lots of kisses!!!
