I didn't want to comment for sure, until we were sure. Now, we're sure. Lexi can sit up all by herself! We've been working hard on this at school and at home for a few weeks now. She finally got it! She had the balance all along. It was the strength that she didn't quite have. She's still a little wobbly and will fall from time to time, but overall she is doing great! Last night we sat her on the floor and circled toys all around her. She loved it. She can finally play the way she has been wanting to for so long. I am very happy for her! She would get so frustrated trying to play while on her belly. Sitting up just makes it so much easier. As with every accomplishment, I'm so proud of her and yet still a little sad. Why in the world must they grow up so fast??????
Saturday we celebrated Lexi turning 6 months with her 1/2 Birthday Picnic Celebration at Wald Park in Vestavia. It was so much fun!!! We had 1/2 chicken salad sandwiches, 1/2 strawberries, 1/2 grapes, 1/2 sized bottles of sodas, cookies with 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 vanilla icing, 1/2 plates, 1/2 napkins, and balloons and a cake that both read "Happy 1/2 Birthday Alexis". I realize that some people may think that this is going overboard for a non-birthday. We don't care. Overboard is what we strive for with this little princess! The weather was a little cool, but overall everything was perfect! Lexi even got to swing with her boyfriend Sam. So sweet and fun! Thank you to everyone who came! We love you guys!
