So this past weekend was super busy and super fun. Saturday we celebrated Perfect Puzzle Preschool's 1 year anniversary with the rest of the school gang at Homewood Park. The weather was perfect, and we all had lots of fun. Mommy and Lexi were very proud when Daddy took home the gold in the wing eating contest. He won by a landslide for the record. Mrs. Demita surprised all the parents by announcing she will be open on the night of the 23rd for us to drop off the kids and have a date night. So sweet in itself, but she also gave out restaurant gift cards to each of us. So thoughtful! A free night out on the town. Woo Hoo!
As soon as that party ended we drove directly to Nana's house for a birthday/Bama party. Bama whooped up on Penn St. as usual. Roll Tide! Everyone munched on delicious food and celebrated Nana and Granddaddy's birthdays. Love visiting with the fam. It always rejuvenates me in some sort of way.
Sunday was the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 tragedies. I watched about 10 minutes of a TV special and allowed myself to cry. Brandon and I hugged, announced how much we love each other and how fortunate we are to have each other, then moved on to happier thoughts. We watched football and DVR recordings for the rest of the day. No need to sit around and be sad. I prayed for the victims and for America's safety. As one person, that's all I can really do. I will never forget that horrible day, but I also will not allow those awful people to steal my inner peace. God bless America.
On a happier note, Lexi has become one heck of a climber. We have such a little monkey on our hands!!! About a week ago we gated off the kitchen so that she would no longer chase the poor cats in there. It wasn't long at all before she was climbing the gate and attempting to flip over it. You would think not even being able to walk yet, that she wouldn't be such an avid climber. Not the case at all. She can climb anything it seems like. Just last night we were watching football on the couch. Brandon was on one side, and me on the other. Lexi was getting a little tired, so she was wallowing in between us. All of the sudden we realized that she had scaled the back of the couch and was about to flip off! We almost died! She is such a little nut!
Possibly my favorite picture ever. I love these 3 people so much. I also love how Lexi is chillin with the guys like she's one of them. This is the epitome of my household's daily life.
Some pics I took of Lex yesterday at school. Lexi = Miss Priss.
