6 Month Check-Up

It appears we have survived our 6 month check up at the doctor. I have been worrying myself sick about this doctor visit every day since the last one. Most of you probably remember, but her 4 month shots were a nightmare. She was so sick for over a week, and I was heartbroken. I so did not want to do that to her again. I contemplated a lot the pros and cons of the shots, and came to the conclusion that it would probably be best to spread them out instead of have her get them all at once. I was fully prepared to fight Dr. Malone on this if he disagreed. Luckily, I didn't have to. I explained to him how upset I was that she had such a terrible reaction, and how uncomfortable I was doing that to her again. He completely understood. She was actually only due for 2 shots this time, though. I had decided going in that 2 at a time would be her limit. There was no problem, afterall. Whew. What a relief. She got her shots and only cried for a minute or two. It was by far the easiest a round of shots has gone so far. After she was done crying, she looked directly at the nurse and yelled at her. It was hilarious! She is always making me laugh! No fever today either. Our prayers are being answered.

They also weighed and measured her. She is 25 1/2 inches in length and 14.0 pounds. Her height is in the 50 percentile, but her weight is only in the 15 percentile. She is still teeny tiny. We are going to try to fatten her up a little before her 9 month check up. No more formula for booboo. She is now on a strict food only diet. Since she refuses to eat most things, we have come up with a solution. We are going to mix everything with carrots! Brandon and I were laughing so hard at the idea of mixing chicken noodles and peach cobbler with carrots, but whatever works. She is going to have permanently stained orange lips for a while. LOL!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day despite the nasty weather. Maybe it will clear up soon. Love you all.
